Help and Advice - Cheap Wedding Dress
Beat the Credit Crunch
Colleen Rooney paid £100,000 for her wedding dress, designed by Georgina Chapman of Marchesa Dress Design Company based in New York.
Now you hens are realistic and fully appreciate that in the UK middle of the range designer dresses cost anywhere from £300 - £1500.
The credit crunch is affecting all and engaged couples are no exception. So at Freedom we’ve been researching how to economise whilst still having the perfect dress on your big day.
We found the following price busting tips to share with you:

- Find a design you love and get a local dressmaker to copy it for you for a fraction of the price, you can even customise making it completely original to you.
- Stake out the charity shops, a little nip and tuck here and there and it will fit you like a glove. Check out oxfam.org.uk, they have 10 specialist wedding dress shops selling dresses at an average of £250 and more often than not these are brand new and have originated from catwalk shows.
- Try the nations favourite – EBAY.
- An evening dress bought in the January sales could be just the job for you.
- Have a look at the hire shops.
- Ex display dresses are often sold off at bargain prices.
Another good money saving exercise is to borrow all the necessary accessories like veils and a tiara.
We’re confident all you hens will look absolutely stunning. [back]
